The election committee will be consist of the Past Presidents of the WAS who accept and coordinated by the immediate Past President and two observers elected by the general assembly preceding the elections, among members who express their desire to be in this role, which precludes them from being elected.

•  Nominations for the WAS Advisory Committee should be delivered in electronic format to the e-mail address of the Election Committee at least ONE MONTH BEFORE THE DAY OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY.

•  The nominee must be a member of an organization affiliated to WAS, without any outstanding dues, or an individual supporting member with paid dues covering the year that the election will be held. The candidate, when belonging to an organization member of WAS should have written authorization from his or her institute, association or society.

•  Each candidate must submit, in electronic format, a brief curriculum vitae including:

  1. List of university degrees held
  2. An electronic copy of the above mentioned degrees in .jpg format
  3. Current positions
  4. A list of activities specially dedicated to promote sexology, sexual health, sexual rights or sexuality education
  5. Personal identification data: address, e-mail address, phone number, fax number, etc.
  6. A digital photograph

•  The Election Committee will make a list of the candidates. A summary of the CVs and other information of the candidates will be available to all the delegates on the web page of the Association and the Congress' Web Page, at least two weeks before the General Assembly.

•  Every official delegate, with voting rights, will be given an official ballot immediately before the General Assembly with the names of candidates. Every delegate will vote for a maximum of 19 candidates. The 19 people with most votes will be elected to the Advisory Committee, according to the rules provided in the statues in the General Assembly.

•  The voting system will be that of the most advanced technological device available when the Assembly meets.

•  The Election Committee will inform the Executive Committee of the results of the election and they will, in turn, announce the duly elected members to the General Assembly.

•  The newly elected Advisory Committee shall meet as soon as possible after the General Assembly and elect the new Officers and Executive Committee of the WAS.

•  Delegates with voting rights should remember that the WAS Statutes call for an Advisory Committee that is:
Composed of members that represent at least 10 nationalities and 5 continents and a gender balance is required (40% of any gender minimum). Both voting delegates and candidates should keep in mind that this structure should be respected. So, in the case a composition of the advisory committee resulting from the election does not meet the statues requirements, the election will follow the "next in the rank of votes better suited" criteria to fulfil the statutory requirement.
